God has given me a great diverse life. He has made me a believer, a husband, a father, a pastor, and an artist.
I grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio. My dad worked for the health department, and my mom was a teacher. I have always been an artist. I went to school for art, I got a degree in Commercial Art, I went to college for Graphic Design, and worked in ad agencies, publishers, and in corporate creative services. I ended up freelancing for some time.
The Holy Spirit has always worked in my life, even when I forgot all about God. My parents were Quakers, and raised my brother and me. In high school and college, I drifted away from God. In college I met my first love, now my wife, Larissa. She was a born and raised and confirmed Lutheran. She witnessed to me, saying that God’s goodness and forgiveness is a gift. My eyes were opened, and I came to faith.
Riss and me have 5 awesome kids, 4 daughters and a son. Kristen, Alexi, and Melody, are our adults and live nearby. We still have Rayna and Alex at home who go to New Ulm Public School.
We came to Minnesota after I went to seminary in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. First I was at Bethel Lutheran Church in Round Lake, and then at St. Peters Lutheran Church, in Gibbon. I currently work for Volt in New Ulm as my day job.
I still draw people, things, and buildings. This is more than you probably wanted to know. But, I hope you find this interesting.
Oh, and I love being a pastor.
